Hands down, summer is my favorite season; the heat of the sun, the breeze on my toes when I wear flip flops, and the late nights that turn into early mornings. This summer I have been inspired by the blues of the ocean, the lightness of the sky, and the angles of all the shapes.

My boyfriend and I started dating during the summer four years ago and this time of year always makes me reminisce those special moments. During the summer I always get a little giddy, a sense of awe, and always full of wonder.

One of my absolute favorite colors is aqua. Not only do I just feel confident and comfortable wearing it, but I am often inspired by it. This cool, calming color can be paired with just about any other color. Another great reason to love it!

BIRCHBOX // JUNE 2013

June's Birchbox

Happy Weekend Bloggers!

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! Mine was filled with family, time with the boyfriend, laughter, fried chicken, the local festivities, and of course, fireworks! Overall, fantastic holiday!

I recently signed up to receive a monthly Birchbox and I have enjoyed every product they have sent. Plus, they have also rebranded this past month, so I have really enjoyed seeing their transformation. For June’s Birchbox, I received:

Birchbox + Color Club, Wanderlust Collection
Birchbox teamed up with Color Club and came up with their own collection inspired by four of their favorite cities: New York, Paris, London, and Barcelona. The color I received was the neon white. It wasn’t a stark white, it was more of a white with a yellow tint which reminds me of lemon tart. I wasn’t a huge fan of the color, but I had a co-worker, Hilary, who also receives Birchboxes and she got the neon pink color in her’s and wasn’t a fan of it, so we traded! Love how that works out! With two coats of polish, you’ll get a great neon look.

Juicy Couture, Couture La La
I am loving this new scent from Juicy Couture. It has a mix of mandarin, red currant, lily and orange blossom. It’s a sweet yet subtle scent that works perfectly for summer. I just do a light spray and call it a day.

Klorane, Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
For the longest time I had been looking for the “perfect” dry shampoo and Klorane’s Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk is definitely up there. Although it leaves a white dusty spray, I would suggest either using it the night before or using your straight iron through it to sort of spread the spray out in your hair. My hair gets very oily and this dry shampoo just soaks it all up. It’s fantastic!

Miernesse, Glossy Kiss Lipstick
Bright red lips are a great way to add impact to any look. Miernesse’s Glossy Kiss Lipstick is a great way to add that punch of pizzazz that you’re looking for. Or, if you’re looking to just subtly add some color, if you just blotch it on from the user-friendly pencil, it will give you a nice smooth matte look as well. Bonus! You can use it on your cheeks! Just blot a little on and it acts like a cheek stain. Two for one? Heck yes!

100% Pure, Nourishing Body Cream
This lotion was Birchbox’s Beauty Extra for the month and I received two packets of the Honey Almond Nourishing Body Cream and one packet of the Vanilla Bean Nourishing Body cream. The Honey Almond is 100% natural and 100% vegeterian, and the Vanilla Bean is 100% natural and 100% vegan. They are a “highly nourishing, luxurious cream concentrated with potent anti-aging antioxidants, vitamins, skin softening fruit oils and moisturizing cocoa and avocado butters.” I have tried the Honey Almond cream and it felt a little “sticky” after putting it on my hands, so I tried using it on my feet. I run and workout quite often and my feet get pretty dry and tired. After using it on my feet they felt soft and refreshed. Everybody’s skin is a little different, so this could be absolute best cream for you, or it may not work as well. That’s what I love about these Birchboxes, it’s a great way to try new products out without hurting your bank account.

My June Birchbox was definitely filled with a lot of great and useful products, some that I will probably invest full price for. Plus, it’s only a few more days until they’ll be sending out July’s Birchbox!

What products did you receive from June’s Birchbox? Which one was your favorite?
